Ophir Rugby Club’s 1st XV emerged victorious in a tightly contested McCambley Cup clash against Ballyclare 4ths, claiming a well-deserved 12-5 win. A strong first-half performance and a resilient defensive effort in the second half proved to be the difference in this exciting encounter.

Ophir started the match with intensity, controlling possession and dictating play. Their hard work paid off with two excellent tries in the first half, both showcasing quick ball movement and precise finishing. A successful conversion gave Ophir a commanding 12-0 lead heading into halftime.

Ballyclare came out strong in the second half, determined to turn the game around. They broke through for a try, narrowing the score to 12-5, but Ophir’s defense rose to the occasion. A series of crucial tackles and disciplined play ensured that Ballyclare couldn’t find another breakthrough.
